Just a Thought

Don't you wonder what would happen if we treated our Book of Mormon like we treat our Cell Phones?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we spent an hour or more using it every day?
What if we used it to receive messages from the "text"?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it as we traveled?
What if we used it in case of an emergency?
Oh, and a few more things - Unlike our cell phones, one Plan fits all.
Unlimited usage.
No roaming charges.
You always have reception.
No weak signals
AND we don't ever have to worry about our Book of Mormon being disconnected,
because our Savior already paid the bill!

A Thought About Girl's Camp by Sister Dotson

Remembering that our theme this year for Girls Camp is "GPS", well, in 2 Nephi 7:10-11 (this is one of the chapters where Nephi was teaching his people from Isaiah) it says:

10. "Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness and hath no light?"

In other words, when have you ever followed the prophet and found yourself without direction or guidance... lost? Ummm... never.

11. "Behold all ye that kindle fire, that compass (GPS... set your course) yourselves about with sparks (tiny, little, "wanna-be" lights), walk in the light of your fire and in the sparks which ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand-- ye shall lie down in sorrow." (WHOA!)

So, what the Lord is telling us is that if we refuse to follow the Gospel and the prophet's counsel and choose, instead, to do our own thing and make our plans without seeking the Lord's direction, we WILL fail and we WILL regret it... and that's all there is to it. So, how cool is that?!!! Especially considering what we talked about at our last meeting that too often all we see is a tiny, little "wanna-be" spark of what's really going on, and we don't have the full perspective/or the true light (Christ is the Light of the world, right?) to know what our Heavenly Father can see.

Faith is setting our course in faith... knowing that He always has a plan for us... there is always purpose... we will never regret following Him.

YCL Sleepover Information

From Sister Dotson:

"Hey there, Everyone!
You're invited to come to our last YCL meeting before camp.
Date: Friday, May 29th - Sat., May 30th
Time: 7:00pm to 10:00am
Place: Polly Dotson's House 1016 Vista Circle, Franklin, TN 37067
RSVP: via email, please so that I know you got this
Bring: Sleeping Bag, pillow, flashlights, scriptures, & treats to share (also prepare for your assignment in the Faith Walk)

Light breakfast will be provided in the morning.

This is a sleep-over, all the men/boys of our house will be kicked out :) and, while you don't have to stay all night if you don't want to, we DO need all YCLs in attendance for at least a few hours. Unfortunately, if you're not there, you won't be able to participate as a guide for all the little sisters in the Faith Walk at Girls Camp. Call me if you have questions 615-599-1019.

Please keep an eye out for one last email with your assigment for the Faith Walk and be prepared to do your part during our "Dress Rehearsal Faith Walk" in my backyard. :) I look forward to seeing you all!

Love,Sis. Dotson"

And if any YCL needs cabin partner and cabin mom info, email/talk to Katelyn Johns because she has the list. Thanks!
